Admitting a BIG goal: Dopey Challenge 2027
Well, here it goes... Admitting a big goal... I will be doing the Dopey Challenge 2027! What in the heck is the Dopey Challenge? Great question- The "Dopey Challenge" is a 4 day running event in Walt Disney World that consists of running a 5k on the first day, a 10k on the second day, a Half Marathon on the third day, and a Full Marathon on the fourth day. The total mileage is 48.6 miles. Yes, 48.6 miles through theme parks before the sun comes up, in January... How did this

RunDisney Wine & Dine 2024
In 2020, Bestie and I signed up for the RunDisney Wine and Dine event. Now, if you're not aware, there was a global pandemic that deterred everyone's plans for that year. So, we decided to wait... Then, I did a RunDisney event in 2022 ( you can read all about that here - this event was a 10K) And I fell in love with the events there and definitely wanted a redo for the Wine & Dine with Bestie. We signed up for the 2024 event. ALL OF THEM. Day One: 5K (3.1 miles) For the

Getting Older - Turning 35
I turned 35 this year (about a month ago now- it's been a busy month, but in a good way. More on that later...) And as one of my closest friends pointed out, I'm halfway to 70 . I never thought about it in those terms, but it did put some things in perspective. Since I tend to think in lists, here's a couple... 35 Fun Things I've done so far (in no particular order) : Get married to the love of my life - best and easiest decision I've ever made. Running Week(s) 2
Week 2 of training ended up being 2 weeks- hit a busy streak with other things and was trying to stay off my right foot. (wee bit of an injury- nothing major, just something healing wonky) Mostly did treadmill workouts, but I'm learning that the best workouts are the ones outside to allow for better breathing/strides. (although the consistent speed on the treadmill is a nice plus there) Feeling stronger and more consistent for week 3 though! More to come with training as wel

2026 Running: Week One
Since 2020 I've dabbled in some running- trained for a few races, and had bouts of consistency. BUT I have a BIG GOAL for January of 2027 that I'd like to attempt and it will require consistency, discipline, and all of the things I've been lacking the last few years. I won't name the goal yet . I want to see if I can get it to be an official registration/booking before stating it. Until then, it will be referred to here as " BIG GOAL " Ominous, I know. But who doesn't

I'm Back!
2022 was a hard year for me. That's no secret. I tried the whole "fake it 'til you make it" BS mindset for a lot longer than I should have, and ... my life kind of blew up in a messy, but necessary, way. Ultimately, I pushed myself past healthy limits, and learned a few lessons the hard way. Grief is an odd journey, but it forced me to pause, recalibrate, and strip back everything I thought about myself. It was time to rebuild. Yes, this sounds dramatic, but it's true. In
