Week 5: Day 1: I did this run in the late morning and it was toasty out BUT I could feel a noticeable difference with the three running intervals. My breathing is becoming more natural and I’m better at pacing myself too.

Day 2: Three more running intervals and they went quick during this workout. The air quality was also much better as the smoke in our area cleared up quite a bit, so that’s a big positive too.

Day 3: I procrastinated until late in the day, and I am yet again reminded that I should be running in the early morning to beat the heat (and sun) so I’ll need to start working on that… Anyway, I did a different route today since I didn’t want to do a long walk after the running intervals (feeling a bit lazy all around on this day) so instead I did a little loop with some off shoots. It had a little more of an incline on the end than I was expecting, but that’s part of the joy of living in the foothills- hills one way or another. Glad I got out and did the run anyway and didn’t let it bleed into the next week of training.

I'm starting to feel more like a runner again. I do need to work on getting up earlier and going first thing in the morning, so there's a mini-goal for next week!
