Completing "Insanity"

We've all heard the phrase "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"
Well, that's certainly true of this goal I've had for about ten years now. I've attempted "Insanity" the workout plan many times over the years. If you're unfamiliar with what it is, it's a 60 day video workout program with a lot of high intensity interval training. (A lot of jumping, squatting, pushups, etc.)
In the past, life has always proven too busy to stay consistent... I would get 1-2 weeks into it and injure my knee, or end up going on a trip, or have to work late hours and it'd throw off my schedule. So, in the midst of grief, I decided to give it a go again. And... I did it!
I finished the whole program, with no injuries. While I didn't achieve washboard abs from it, I did get stronger, and more disciplined throughout the program. I will admit, I got a bit bored in the back half of the program (an hour of HIIT workouts is a lot) but I'm glad I completed this goal.
Will I try it again? Not anytime soon. Am I glad I did it? Yes, it definitely helped in a lower point of my grief season. If life's taken a few downward pivots, goals (especially physical fitness ones) can help move you in the right direction.
