2026 Running: Week One

Since 2020 I've dabbled in some running- trained for a few races, and had bouts of consistency. BUT I have a BIG GOAL for January of 2027 that I'd like to attempt and it will require consistency, discipline, and all of the things I've been lacking the last few years. I won't name the goal yet. I want to see if I can get it to be an official registration/booking before stating it. Until then, it will be referred to here as " BIG GOAL " Ominous, I know. But who doesn't love a little suspense? Anyway, this is one of the reasons I revived the blog- I do better with myself for accountability and so I will have some weekly running logs. This past week I started an official running goal to get started, and I did 2 treadmill runs, and a neighborhood outdoor run. Each about 30-45 minutes currently at an easy pace, and with plenty of walking intervals included in them as well. Treadmill workouts are more boring than the outdoor ones, but I'm hoping to gain a better pacing tactic while training on the treadmill during these cooler/darker months. I'm definitely not as in shape as I'd like to be currently (but honestly who is when they're starting?) but as long as I can stay focused throughout the year and avoid injury, I think I can manage it. So, one week down, a year to go. I promise to add more exciting photos as I go along, or as exciting as logs about running can be...
