Half Marathon Training: Week 4

I went on vacation after week 3 of training, and traveling abroad with a +9hour time difference threw me for a loop when I got back so week 4 was a little more delayed than I’d originally hoped. Plus, we had rainy weather when we got back and that didn’t help either…
Anyway
Week 4: Day 1: This workout was on the track, and it was ROUGH. I was tired and breathing felt hard since I’d taken time off for vacation BUT I did it and I’m proud of myself for getting back out there.
Day 2: I decided to run this workout on my walking loop and I’m glad I did. The intervals went by faster since there was more to look at. With four running intervals,, this was about 2.5 miles in total and I’m starting to feel the progress in my breathing patterns.
Day 3: Back on the walking loop and slightly faster than the last run! According to the app, I’m now officially “halfway to a 5k” again which is pretty cool. Currently my mile time, with intervals, is 10:52 (not impressive, but I’m writing it here so I can look back and compare when this mile time gets faster)
This was the first week back after two weeks off for vacation/jet lag and honestly, I really didn’t want to get back out there and run again, but I’m so glad I did. I’ve worked really hard over the last few months and I’m finally starting to feel like myself again. Or, at least, heading in the right direction to feeling like myself.
Also, Bestie and I decided to run a half marathon next Fall, so that gives me a year and a half to train and get in shape for it. Setting a big goal like this helps me prepare and work towards it day by day.
