The Blue Guest Room

This room was done very early into moving into this house, and is probably the room that gets the most compliments (after the kitchen) despite it not quite going to plan... but sometimes happy accidents work out well.

I picked a light blue. One that I thought would work well with some calming artwork we already have. I was trying to repurpose as much as possible when we first moved in, just so rooms could have a finished feel to them (and save some money)

However, the blue ended up being less calm, and more ...electric.

Luckily, this was an easy pivot since I had my black/white/yellow gallery wall that could easily work in this space.

The art has been a collection of items thrifted, gifted, created, and purchased over the years, and I will soon be adding a few new pieces too.

Furniture was also leftovers from our last house that we repurposed- I used our dresser from our old bedroom in, and the grey twin bed frame from our old guest room. Also stuck an old nightstand in here, and a grey office chair that works perfectly.

Things have shifted a bit since I've been using this room as my temporary office while I save up to refinish my actual office space. It's a large enough room that I could add my desk in without it feeling too cramped.

This room is proof that sometimes the unexpected turns out better than your original plan.
