My First Time At A Gun Range

Prior to this day, the only guns I've shot were of the nerf, squirt, or air soft assortment...
I won't get into my thoughts on guns as a whole, or dip into politics in this post, but just my experience at the range.
Anyway, we went to a range just a few minutes away from our house. I didn't really know what to expect there, but the front part was a store area, and the range was in the back.
We watched a short safety video, and picked out some targets:

Then we headed to the range area with our protective ear and eye equipment.
And I didn't do too poorly for my first time:

Overall, I liked the target practice aspect of it, BUT I didn't like:
• How loud it was (even with the protective ear equipment)
• The price - I think it's really expensive for what it is, but I understand it
• The reloading takes quite a bit of time
• I got a little skittish when people around me went - still a weird feeling with guns going off near me
However, I completely understand the appeal of it for some people, it's just not for me :) I would like to look into more relaxed target practice activities though.
