I mean, come on, it's the GRAND CANYON. Of course it's amazing.
The Grand Canyon is located in Arizona, and it's friggin' huge.
I've now visited this one twice. It was actually on the drive the first time, in 2017, that I decided I was going to make it a goal of mine to visit all 59 National Parks because I kept seeing signs of other ones along the way and realized how many of them were within driving distance to me.
During the first visit, it was super crowded and during a warm season. The place was crawling with tourists from all over. We stayed to watch a sunset and see the colors change across the canyon.
The second visit, (in November 2020) we intended to see the sunrise, but the original path we planned on was closed. (The East Rim entrance was closed because of coronavirus) However, we still got to see the early morning light changing in the canyon and by coming into the park via the South Rim entrance, we saw a lot more plants and animals. By going early in the morning, we were also able to avoid a lot more car congestion and able to be the only ones in a lot of the viewing areas.
