59 Parks: Crater Lake National Park

Crater Lake is located in the Cascade Mountains of southern Oregon, and it is not a good idea to try and visit in March.

We (bestie & I) visited this in March of 2022, on her spring break. We didn't take into account what the weather would be like during this time of year, and in this region... lesson learned.

We were in a very tiny rental car, and as we drove further and further into unplowed roads, I decided it was too dangerous, and turned around. (you can see how close/far we were from the lake in the screenshot below)

Technically, we made it into the park. However, we were quite a ways back from the lake itself, so it will definitely require a return trip. It was still a pretty drive, and felt very Christmas-card-ish.
