Short Film Film Shoot

Recently I had a friend ask if they could use our house for a location shoot for a short film of theirs.
I said yes.
I miss working on short films, and being around them. I've been on shoots for work, but it's been SO long since I've helped with a passion project or attempted one of my own.
It would be a lot of people in our house (around 8-10) with lots of equipment, etc. BUT the friend that asked is a close friend, and I knew he'd be very cognizant of our space/belongings, etc.
I helped with props and set design. This worked out nicely since I had a lot of donation items I'd been hoarding until all of the house projects were done. (Just in case I accidentally donated something too soon that would've been a good decor item for a different room) A lot of things from that were used.
Our house ended up being a good location as far as having extra spare rooms for people to use as dressing rooms, and a snack station for the crew that wouldn't be in the shot.
The film would consist of 2 days being shot here, and 1 day at my friend's house.
Day 1 of the shoot here:
Started from about 8am and went until about 11pm. A long day for everyone involved, but I had an absolute blast. I was more behind the scenes and chatting with another friend that was doing makeup and prosthetics (makeup that took several hours to apply, and ended up looking great)
While it was a long shoot day, it made me really miss working on short films, and I think I'm going to put that on my list of things to do next year.
Day 2 of the shoot here:
There were two weeks in-between the shoot days here. Day 2 was a much shorter day, (10am-6pm) and half the scenes were outdoor scenes, and there were a few more actors involved on this day. I was needed very little since most of the props were for the first day. It went pretty smoothly on my end.
The weather did act up a couple times, but it all worked out in the end.
My biggest takeaway from this experience: I really miss working on short films. Might be something I look more into over the next couple years if I can...
